Fall is a season of transformation.
So much change happens as our long summer days transition to crisp fall mornings. For many of us, autumn has become the start of a new year — a new school year, a new fiscal year, new small groups, and new workout schedules. With all of the fresh starts happening in fall, it is a season of purpose as we live out our callings in Christ.
While we welcome the change that fall brings, we often struggle to adapt to this change and find new rhythms that work with our daily lives. That’s why this season we are focusing on creating holy habits to help us protect our peace — our mental and emotional peace, physical peace, and spiritual peace.
A habit is defined as a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up. Studies show that habits can be formed or broken in 21 days but takes on average 66 days to be fully formed. For us to live, truly live life on purpose, we have to reprogram ourselves to our true identity so we can live out our calling. We can only truly live out our callings when we turn our hearts toward Jesus and begin living a worship-based faith instead of a works-based faith.
